It is about alleged driver flight: The CSU MEP Monika Hohlmeier has lost her immunity in the European Parliament for investigations of the prosecutor. MEPs in Strasbourg voted by hand to lift the bill.

With the decision already taken on Tuesday, a preliminary investigation against the 56-year-old can now be initiated, said a spokesman for the prosecutor Coburg, which had submitted the application for repeal. She is considering investigating the daughter of the former Bavarian Prime Minister, Franz Josef Strauss, for possible escape.

In the room stood the accusation of unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident. Hohlmeier said on Facebook that she should have touched another car when parking last September. She did not notice and contacted the owner after she heard about it.

"But since I am not geared to quarrels or bosses, I apologized and in September, the costs from the offer of the workshop in the amount of 241.88 euros transferred privately," said Hohlmeier on. "We have everything friendly and regulated by mutual agreement."

Against Hohlmeier run in Germany, a preliminary investigation, it is also said in the adopted by the European Parliament report. The spokesman for the prosecution emphasized that the waiver of immunity is only related to this issue. Hohlmeier said that she herself had requested that immunity be lifted immediately.
