Spain's former goalkeeper and team-mate Iker Casillas suffered a heart attack and was taken to hospital but his health stabilized after receiving medical care, the Portuguese radio station Reynaisena reported on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old goalkeeper, Casillas, suffered a heart attack during his Portuguese team's morning training on Wednesday and was taken to a hospital where he was diagnosed with heart muscle infarction (coronary artery blockage).

The goalkeeper was training with his team in the center of Porto Gaia, preparing for the league match with Avis this weekend.

Casillas won the 2010 FIFA World Cup with Spain in South Africa.
