"Oh mom, look, cow coming! The astonishment of a little girl on Saturday as night falls in downtown Caen, may have given way to a little apprehension. Among the 30 protesters at L214, some of whom had donned plastic masks made of cow, horse or pig, resounded the cries of pigs slaughtered in slaughterhouse, broadcast by a large enclosure on wheels. Gore videos, visible on laptops stretched to the passers-by, and billboards of slaughtered animals completed the atmosphere of this "macabre procession" .

"For animals, Halloween is every day, in slaughterhouses," says Nastasia Durmont, a L214 association spokesperson in Caen. Mrs. Cow, Mr. Cochon and their companions marched in several streets to draw attention to their sad fate, between sarcastic smiles, interested questions and disgusted looks.
