In Burkina Faso, the new Prime Minister Christophe Dabiré appointed Thursday his government. Seven new ministers make their entry while nine have been thanked.

The first highlight of this new government team , Cherif Sy, the former president of the National Council of the transition, the Parliament set up after the fall of Blaise Compaore, is the new Minister of State, Minister of National Defense and Veterans. It is he who, since his refuge, had called the Burkinabè to oppose the coup of strength of September 2015. Aged 59, he was until then high representative of the president Roch Marc Christian Kaboré.

Ousséni Compaoré inherits from the Ministry of Security to replace Clement Sawadogo. Its mission is to breathe new life into the ranks when internal security is threatened by attacks attributed to terrorist or jihadist groups.

In Economics, Finance and Development, we find Lassané Kaboré. He replaces Rosine Sori-Coulibaly.

I wish great success to the members of the government who will start immediately to meet the strong and urgent expectations of our people @ChristopheDabir #BurkinaFaso #lwili pic.twitter.com/Kei0Du38K4

Alpha Barry retains the portfolio of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. René Bagoro remains Minister of Justice, but his department is split in two with the Human Rights and Civic Promotion section entrusted to Maminata Ouattara.

Simon Compaore, former Minister of State in charge of the presidential mission and also acting president of the ruling party, as well as seven other personalities leave the government ship.

In total it is a team of 28 ministers and three ministers delegate that was set up by the new head of government Christophe Dabiré.
