In Burkina Faso, a new attack killed three people on Tuesday night near the town of Arbinda in the northern Soum. A bus was arrested, 12 kilometers from the provincial capital, by armed men who shot and killed three young men.
When he leaves Dori to join Arbinda, the bus is full. It is at the village of Niki that several armed men stop the vehicle. They board, check the identities of the passengers and send down four young men. One of them escapes, the other three are executed.
The identity of the three victims remains unknown. If the intentions of the attackers are not yet clear, some sources on the spot consider that these murders are reprisals related to the community violence of the village of Hamkane, at the beginning of the month.
A religious leader and his family had been murdered by gunmen. In retaliation, the inhabitants attacked the surrounding Fulani villages, killing around 30 people.
" The situation has become catastrophic , says a breeder in the region. Everyone looks at themselves in faience dogs. It only takes a spark and the security forces are not there, "he grieves.
A fact denied by Jean-Paul Badoum, in charge of the communication of the Ministry of Security. "A lot of men are deployed in the area ," he says. They are mobile, but it is very difficult to intervene between communities that live together, "he concludes.
