Is this the outcome of a case that has occupied the police for more than a month? A child of about ten years would be the author of the projectile, which wounded an eight-year-old girl, at the beginning of September in Bellevue.

Fast backwards. Last September 4th, it is approximately 5 pm when the police are called to go street of Vannes, in the district of Bahamas.

Traumatic brain injury

At street number 6, an eight-year-old girl, who was walking with her mother, was wounded by a projectile shot from one of the buildings.

The wounds of the girl appear slight at first, but she must finally be transported to the hospital, victim of a double traumatic brain.

The DNA

"Willful criminal act, negligence, accident? It is in the most complete fog that the investigations of the police begin, says Thierry Le Floch, patron of the departmental security. No hypothesis is neglected. Rumors circulate, social networks panic, talking about a can or a glass bottle thrown from an apartment. "

At first, the police manage to identify the projectile. It is a painted pebble, "probably fruit of the work of a schoolboy or family achievement. The police decide to send him for DNA research at the IGNA in Nantes. "The explorations make it possible to isolate on the stone two DNA, that of the small victim and an unknown male DNA" , details the police.

"Observed behaviors, rated"

On September 20, a major operation is conducted in the neighborhood. At 4, 6, 8 and 10 rue de Vannes, the police take DNA from all the men. In all, 80 DNAs are collected for comparison and sent to the National Institute of Technical and Scientific Police.

"This vast operation will help guide the investigation of the police to the author of injuries , details the police. The behaviors of all residents are observed, noted. Each observation is recorded, each discomfort is recorded. "

Several families are thus "targeted" in priority by the investigators of the brigade of minors who decided to proceed to systematic hearings.

A child of ten

"Some after the operation of the rue de Vannes, and while the police are preparing to address their convocations, the investigation takes a definitive turn , " says Thierry Le Floch. A mother collapsed, arrives at the police station on September 29 in the late afternoon, "anticipating two days the convocation that was going to be given to be the first heard".

She is accompanied by her child, about ten years old, who has just taught him to be the author of the roll of this pebble that has hurt the little neighbor.

"A child of about ten years old, in great moral suffering since his youngest age, who finds as an answer to all annoyance only the violence that it manifests toward others or objects within reach. September 4th was a punishment at the college. The pebble would have been projected by the open window, without intention to reach or hurt anyone.
