Assad also noted that some Western states continue to put pressure on Syria, which complicates the process of political settlement.
Earlier, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem, speaking at the 73rd UN General Assembly, said that Damascus opposes the imposition of conditions on the committee to draft a new constitution for the country.
