Researchers, opponents, activists and young Algerians believe that the departure of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will not be enough to get out of the political crisis in Algeria. The population who has been walking massively since February 22nd is still demanding the departure of the regime just like that of the president. It also calls for the establishment of a provisional government and an independent and impartial personality who will lead this transitional period and hold free elections. Several observers of the Algerian scene agree that power is now lagging behind. He is at a standstill in the face of this unprecedented exemplary movement.

Since March 15, day of the announcement of the withdrawal of President Bouteflika from the presidential race and the postponement of elections, the power continues to make concessions in response to the claims of Algerians.

But neither the change of government, nor the announced national conference, nor even the resignation of the president demanded by the chief of staff of the army seem to satisfy the population.

For the protesters, these measures come too late. " It was already necessary to take them since 2014 ", they agree to say.

For them, abandoning Abdelaziz Bouteflika is only one way to save the regime. For many Algerians, the government must finally realize that "its tricks" no longer operate.

More and more protesters have other, more radical expectations: there is no question of replacing a helpless old man with another cacique of power, no more a question of leaving the preparation of the future ballot in the hands of a system that has failed.

The next events expected for Friday will they manage to snatch new concessions to an Algerian power that seems out of step and in total break with this country which has more than 54% under 30 years?
