On March 10, the film crew was not allowed to the agreed rally through the common entrance, as the video agency and TV operators had video equipment with them. In this regard, they were redirected to the press area. However, there, at the entrance, they were met by the press secretary of the Libertarian Party, Sonya Blade, who refused to miss the journalists.

“I didn’t let Rush Toaday and Life enter the press zone; they dragged the stepladder and now broadcast my accreditation,” commented the libertarians' representative.

Blade later said that she was denied “access to the press area near the stage, and not to the rally”. However, it is worth noting that journalists did not have another legal opportunity to get to the event - only through the press zone, lawyers say.

At the same time, Sonia Blade suggested that employees of RT and Ruptly “resign” in order to be able to cover the protest.

“In a situation where the rally is held according to certain rules that were set in advance by the Moscow authorities for the organizers and it was planned that the rally itself was a regime passage, and for the press to carry out their professional journalistic activities with the help of technical means zone. It was impossible to change anything. A press zone was envisaged, it was agreed between the Moscow authorities and the organizers of this event. Freedom of the press was violated, ”said Vanin.

According to him, taking into account the rules for holding rallies in the center of Moscow with special equipment, law enforcement officers have the right not to miss, especially if a special press zone is equipped, which is intended for the media to broadcast from it to the public to see what happens at this rally.

The lawyer added that discriminatory steps towards representatives of certain media are “an unprecedented fact.”

“To arrange a rally for freedom, on the one hand, and on the other hand, to exercise clear and overt censorship with our own hands. They violated all the International Charter of Journalists, freedom of the press and human rights, ”he said.

The expert added that in the “false explanations” that was made, confessions were made against the organizers themselves. By this explanation they confirmed that they did not let journalists into the press zone, Vanin explained.
