The Executive Committee of the Saudi-Saudi Coordination Council held its second meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in the framework of activating the joint vision of economic, developmental and military integration between the two countries, intensifying bilateral cooperation on issues of common interest between the two countries and discussing and reviewing a number of initiatives and projects focused on achieving security and prosperity. The Chairman of the Executive Committee from the UAE side, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, and the Minister of Economy and Planning, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Saudi side, Mohammed Al Tuwaijri, discussed a package of joint strategic initiatives that reflect the continuation of bilateral integration in many fields, Financial markets, tourism, aviation, entrepreneurship, customs and others, as well as a number of recommendations to adopt a number of joint boards and committees.

Al-Gergawi said that the Saudi-Saudi Coordination Council provides a unique example of global integration, with the unlimited patronage and support of the leaders of the two brotherly countries, to integrate visions, unite efforts and exert energies for the benefit of our citizens.

He stressed that the package of projects and initiatives discussed by the Executive Committee of the Council confirms that the process of comprehensive integration between the two countries is moving forward in all areas.

"We are looking forward to opening new fields and sectors for cooperation in health, space, culture and others," he said.

Al-Gergawi said that "global and regional developments around us bear the responsibility of acting at a faster pace of integration and consolidation of visions and ideas to create a better future for our citizens, especially as these developments make the bet on Saudi-UAE strategic cooperation real and strong."

Al Tuwaijri said: "We are very pleased to host the second meeting of the Executive Committee of the Saudi-Saudi Coordinating Council in Riyadh and are proud of the existing work that serves vital and diverse fields. The success of the Saudi-Saudi Coordination Council's efforts depends on our work together in a team spirit to achieve our joint initiatives. And we will work together to ensure the effective implementation of the opportunities for cooperation and partnership between the two countries, through a clear mechanism based on an integrated methodology for measuring performance and ensure the sustainability and realization of plans, Which will achieve strategic integration between the two countries in a number of fields, and enhance the security and the status of the two countries, and the development and prosperity of their brotherly peoples ».

The agenda of the meeting included the follow-up of the work of the joint teams, the developments of the strategic projects, in addition to recommending a set of resolutions that support the objectives of the Council. The committee recommended activating seven complementary committees, managing and organizing 26 priority areas, and evaluating opportunities for joint cooperation between the two countries. The issues raised and related to initiatives, prioritization and work on supporting the Executive Committee, through the submission of observations and recommendations.

The complementary committees include: the Finance and Investment Committee, the Energy and Industry Committee, the Environment and Housing Committee, the Tourism and Information Committee, the Human Development Committee, the Political Committee and the Military and Security Committee.

The Committee recommended the development of food security as a focal point of the Council and its adoption as a central sector for cooperation, enhancing the two countries' position in global food security indicators and through a sustainable and integrated system of work.
