A Dubai court has fined 3,000 dirhams for a British woman who has died on Facebook, describing her as a horse, denouncing her husband leaving her for a woman like that.

This case raised the interest of the British media, which dealt with them in an objective manner, denouncing the trial of women, without considering that the case was filed by a woman who was verbally abused by a criminal, according to the law of combating the crimes of information technology in the state.

The 55-year-old British woman was charged with abusing the information technology of the victim after the latter released her right to the Jebel Ali police station on 22 May 2017.

The incident occurred when the defendant, a British woman of Iranian descent, learned that her ex-husband had married her after seeing his new wife on Facebook, posting comments in her native language (Persian) describing him as a mute and describing his wife as a horse.

When the defendant learned that her husband had died, she was brought to Dubai with her daughter in March 2019, without knowing that a complaint had been filed against her, and that a case was pending before the judiciary. She was suspended and released on bail. The defendant filed a petition with the court on April 4, and was then adjourned by the court to 11 April. The defendant's lawyer requested that the case be adjourned until the fees were paid. The defendant's lawyer asked the court to postpone the settlement with the victim until she relinquished the case , And defend his client, but postponed the head of the ruling to the end of the hearing, and sentenced the court convicted the accused, and forced to pay a fine of 3000 dirhams.

The defendant learned that her ex-husband married her after seeing his picture with his new wife on Facebook.
