Three students at the Al-Hoor School for Basic and Secondary Education created air purifiers of harmful gases from the air conditioning system and fire.

Amani Saeed Al Shehhi, Mariam Abdulrahman Al Shehhi and Jawhar Sulaiman Al Yahyaie told Emirates Today that the device is used in all places where there are air conditioners, such as homes, cars, offices, etc. The device produces sounds and warning signals when there is a leak of harmful gases, When the temperature rises and the oxygen is low, the device increases its rate and reduces the temperature temporarily so that the person can disable the air conditioning. If it is delayed, the device sends signals to the civil defense, specifying the problem and its location.

The students reported that they were able to complete the project supervised by their teacher Hiam Saif al-Din within three months. The process of building the device went through a number of steps, namely research on adaptations and how to work and control them, identify the problem and find ways to solve it, With the identification of the necessary sensors, and then building and conducting the necessary experiments on it.

They said that the system contributes to reducing the deaths caused by the leakage of harmful gases emitted by the air conditioning, which cause the cases of suffocation, especially when the adaptations to the heating system, which leads to higher temperature than normal, resulting in decreasing oxygen in Room, causing suffocation and death.

The students participated in the Innovation, Science and Technology Festival organized by the Ministry of Education from 31 January to 4 February in Festival City Dubai, confirming that the project was praised by the Evaluation Committee and Ministry officials.
