RAK Central Operations Room received 1,115 requests for assistance following heavy rains in various parts of the Emirate, including reports of vehicles stuck in the Wadi Al-Bayh area and the disruption of vehicles as a result of rainwater harvesting on public roads. Ras Al Khaimah Police also closed the roads leading to Wadi al-Bayh and Jabal Jis in front of the movement of vehicles in order to protect the safety of road users.

The General Services Department in Ras Al Khaimah received 126 reports concerning the entry of rainwater into houses in low residential areas, the fall of trees and the collapse of secondary roads in some areas of the Emirate.

Brigadier General Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi said that the Emirate's police have increased the level of readiness and readiness and distributed 22 traffic patrols, intensifying patrols, ambulances and emergency teams to assess damage and provide the necessary support to ensure the safety of the public and achieve the highest rate of response.

He pointed out that the emirate witnessed yesterday heavy rainfall between heavy and medium, which led to the flow of valleys and the high level of water in Wadi El-Bayh. Traffic patrols closed the roads leading to Wadi El-Bayh and Jebel Gis to prevent vehicles from entering the valley and to protect the safety of road users.

He added that the traffic patrols were deployed to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic on the main and secondary streets and the residential neighborhoods that witnessed the gathering of rainwater. He pointed out that the Ras Al Khaimah police continue to work with the concerned authorities to face the expected emergencies due to weather and rain fluctuations for the safety of all.

He pointed out that the drivers of vehicles must be committed to safe driving during the rains and follow the safety procedures and move away from the places of rainwater and valleys with the need to take safety precautions for the preservation of life and property.

Ahmed Al Hamad Al Shehhi, Advisor to the General Services Department at Ras Al Khaimah, said that the department received 126 messages in various areas of the Emirate, including 112 reports on rainwater harvesting in public roads and low residential areas, and eight reports of falling trees due to strong winds and rain. And six reports related to the collapse of subways in some areas of the Emirate.

He pointed out that most of the reports of rainwater harvesting were in the areas of Khuzam, Al-Zait and the Golan as low residential areas. The department also received a report on the existence of a rainwater pool in the Sha'am area as a result of the running of the valley water.

He added that 18 million and 15 thousand gallons of rainwater have been withdrawn in residential areas and public roads. He pointed out that emergency and crisis teams in the department are continuously working to withdraw water pools from different regions of the Emirate and respond to all communications.
