Asier Rodríguez Santos was 24 years old. And he had already saved up 1.7 million euros with his cinematic planned deeds, not counting expensive cars and watches. A Rolex on his arm and an AMG-Mercedes were part of the identification mark of the gang members.

At the same time, the "AMGers" also had something like a moral compass. They wanted to exempt banks and cash-in-transit companies as non-violently as possible. A bit of »Robin Hood« and »Ocean's Eleven«, those were her role models.
But at some point they broke with this promise. Driven by the addiction to make ever larger booty, they illegally acquired an AK-47, better known as a Kalashnikov. All this is neatly documented in the court records. What the AMG gang did not suspect was that their cars were bugged. "Just to scare people, you shoot at the car," it says in the wiretaps, which are read out in detail in the podcast. In this way, they justified more and more new arms purchases: defense against the police in the event of a chase.
But the investigators only came across the gang by chance. An accomplice blundered in another car, which happened to be bugged into a completely different case. As a result, the police also equipped the AMG gang's fleet with miniature microphones. It was only with these wiretapping protocols that they were able to prove that Asier Rodríguez Santos had committed extensive crimes.
All this time, he led a double life. His wife thought he was raking in so much money as a real estate agent. That was his legend when he returned home to his wife and daughter in the evening. In the third episode »Under Interrogation: Profession Gangster«, Asier Rodríguez Santos tells how he learned to change his roles without effort. And lost his grip on the ground in the process.
