The Echizen Railway in Fukui Prefecture opened to the public on the 30th to coincide with the renewal of the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum this summer.

The Echizen Railway has decided to operate a sightseeing train depicting dinosaurs in anticipation of an increase in tourists due to the renewal of the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum this summer and the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture next spring.

On the 30th, a vehicle named "Dinosaur Train" was unveiled to the press.

On the outside of the two-car train, 2 types of dinosaurs are depicted in a lively manner, including the Americas in the first car and Asia in the second, and five types of dinosaurs related to Fukui such as Fukuiraptor and Fukuisaurus are also included.

On the other hand, inside the car, there are vehicles maintained in the image of the time when dinosaurs lived, and vehicles that reproduce modern fossil excavation sites, where dinosaur figurines are placed and fossil replicas are posted on the walls.

Daijiro Sasaki, General Manager of the Business Development Department of Echizen Railway, said, "We focused on the exterior and interior of the Dinosaur Train, so I think families will enjoy it.

The "Dinosaur Train" is scheduled to start operation in the summer to coincide with the renewal of the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum.
