Edouard Mendy, Bouna Sarr, Abdou Diallo, Cheikhou Kouyaté, Ismaïla Sarr. The absence of these starters, combined with the ambition of Mozambique, second in this pool L, could have made think, for a moment, that Senegal could be disrupted for this third day. But if there was any doubt, it was swept away in the first minutes with the opening score of the Lions by Youssouf Sabaly served by Iliman Ndiaye (9th). This is the beginning of a tidal wave for the Black Mambas carried away by the wave of Aliou Cissé's men who finish the first period on the score of 4-0 (Mané 15th, Ilimane Ndiaye 32nd, and Boulaye Dia 39th). The fans are celebrating, Idrissa Guèye joyfully celebrates his 100th selection by depriving Henri Camara of the record for the number of caps in the national team.

But on the return from the locker room, the atmosphere is cooled from the start by Lourenco Vilanculos who reduces the score by recovering a ball badly pushed away by Alfred Gomis on an opposing free kick (48th). The visitors are emboldened, but the Lions will not tremble much, even scoring a fifth goal by Habib Diallo (89) e entered in the second half.

Senegal keeps the lead of the group with 5 points ahead of its victim of the day, Mozambique. On Tuesday, a success on Mozambican soil will greatly open the doors of the CAN 2024.
