Kunqu Opera "The Lion's Roar" is one of Wang Shiyu's masterpieces.
The play originated from a legend created by Wang Tingna, a playwright of the Ming Dynasty. It has become one of the regular performances of Kunqu Opera with its humorous light comedy characteristics.
The play interweaves a literati picture full of life through the scholar Chen Jichang, his wife Liu Shi and his friend Su Dongpo.
