Answering 46 calls for seeking medical advice and medicine, seeing a doctor and delivering medicine to 83 villagers, taking root deep in the mountains, riding 6 motorcycles, and falling down countless times... Recalling the perseverance of the past 30 years and the peak of the epidemic infection years ago Busy, Xin Ping, a village doctor in Xiazhuanghe Village, Shilou County, Luliang City, Shanxi Province, is not without emotion, "It's hard to explain in a word."

With the warm winter sun, starting from Shilou County, the car meandered between Liangmao and ravines. After more than 50 minutes, the reporter arrived at Xiazhuanghe Village where Xin Ping was located.

In a clean and bright clinic, patients are waiting for treatment. Xin Ping’s mobile phone rings from time to time, and they are all from the villagers for consultation. “One is a patient with high blood pressure who has no medicine. Come to check what's the problem, we all live on the top of the mountain, and we have to leave early in a while."

Xin Ping is responsible for the health management of more than 500 people in the two natural villages of Xiazhuanghe and Fengcaiyuan.

Because the village is located deep in the mountains, the villagers live scattered, and most of them are elderly people over the age of 50. If you have a headache, you can consult by telephone.

"It's not convenient for the elderly to move around, and their children are not around. I often go to the door by bicycle to deliver medicine and see a doctor. If the condition is serious, I will contact the higher-level hospital for referral." He will also carry the medicine kit on his back and ride to the patient's home with the faint headlights. "The villagers' phone calls and WeChat are orders."

During the peak infection period of the new crown epidemic at the end of 2022, the villagers of Xiazhuanghe Village were also "recruited" one after another. From the initial "positive panic", self-indiscriminate medication caused physical discomfort, to the consultation and medication after the positive, Xin Ping guarded the whole process.

"A few times, the villagers called for emergency visits in the middle of the night. I accidentally caught a cold, my head was dizzy, I fell down while riding a motorcycle, and my hands and clothes were torn. I felt very wronged at the time, but I thought about it. Wait for me to deliver the medicine, calm down and continue on our way.” Xin Pingping said that the villagers should not be denied timely treatment because of their own problems.

Rooted deep in the mountains for many years, Xin Ping broke 6 motorcycles and fell countless times.

Xin Ping's mobile phone records show that on December 24 and 25, 2022, he answered more than 40 phone calls from patients every day, and the number of WeChat consultations made his mobile phone freeze; Woke up to see the doctor, and did not return home until 11:40 in the evening.

Because of the high mountains and steep slopes, Xin Ping carried various chargers with him to charge his mobile phones and electric cars during his time between medical visits.

On that day, he served a total of 83 villagers in 36 households.

Serving night pots for the elderly of five-guarantee households in Shijiata Village, and cooking for patients in Xiazhuanghe Village, everyone in the villagers said that Dr. Xin Ping is a very good person.

In 2020, he was named "Top Ten Most Beautiful Village Doctors in Luliang City in 2019".

"In recent years, the government has built standard village clinics, equipped with medical equipment, and often organizes training for village doctors." Xin Ping said, "I have lived here for 51 years, and I love my elders deeply. Folks, my fathers and folks are also very supportive of me, and I will continue to serve you."

On the day of the Lantern Festival, the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, after answering a call from a villager, Xin Ping picked up his medical kit as usual and disappeared into the ravines on his electric scooter.
