Chongqing promotes the protection and development of traditional villages and "rejuvenates" centuries-old villages. Yangjiacao Village lies quietly in the valley of Mingyue Mountain.
In the early years of the Qing Dynasty, the Yang family from Xiaogan, Hubei Province migrated here. The village is in the shape of a "C", extending from high to low, and is composed of three groups: Shangwan, Zhongwan and Xiawan. Most of the houses in the village were built in the late Qing Dynasty.
