  According to the official measurement of the China Seismic Network, at 11:38 on the 5th, a magnitude 3.2 earthquake occurred in Sanshui District, Foshan City (23.27 degrees north latitude, 112.95 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 8,000 meters.

  The Guangdong Provincial Seismological Bureau revealed that the epicenter of the earthquake was located near Leping Town, Sanshui District, Foshan City, 14 kilometers from the urban area of ​​Sanshui District, 32 kilometers from the urban area of ​​Foshan City, and 35 kilometers from Guangzhou City.

The earthquake was felt strongly at the epicenter.

The largest earthquake was a magnitude 3.7 earthquake that occurred in Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province on April 2, 2021. The earthquake (171 kilometers away from the epicenter) and the 3.7-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Yangxi County, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province on March 20, 2018 (201 kilometers away from the epicenter).

  According to the Guangdong Provincial Seismological Bureau, based on a comprehensive analysis of the structural characteristics near the epicenter of the earthquake, historical seismic activity, types of earthquake sequences, and geophysical anomalies, it is unlikely that an earthquake of magnitude 5 or above will occur in the original earthquake area in the near future.
