On the afternoon of the 19th, a large marine creature that appeared to be a whale was confirmed in the sea near the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line.

The Japan Coast Guard is calling attention to ships navigating the area.

According to the Yokohama Coast Guard Department, around 1:20 pm on the 19th, a ship sailing in Tokyo Bay received a report saying, ``We found a whale blowing tide or diving near the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line.'' was given.



In response to the report, the Yokohama Coast Guard Headquarters sent a patrol boat to the vicinity, and confirmed the appearance of a large marine creature that looked like a whale.



A video taken by the Japan Coast Guard shows what appears to be a whale swimming and squirting.

Previous whale sightings around Tokyo Bay

Whales have been sighted several times in and around Tokyo Bay.



Five years ago, in June 2018, sightings were reported one after another off the coast of Kasai Seaside Park and near the Tokyo Gate Bridge.



In September 2018, a 4-meter-long whale carcass was found near Uraga Channel, off the coast of Miura City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
