Large-scale traffic restrictions were implemented in central Tokyo on the 3rd. The Metropolitan Police Department is asking people to refrain from driving cars and instead use public transportation.

Approximately 38,000 runners are scheduled to take part in this year's Tokyo Marathon, the same as last year. The participants will start in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building just after 9 a.m., and then run through Asakusa and Ginza, aiming for the finish point at Tokyo Station. Vehicles will be prohibited from passing on the roads surrounding the course.
