8 members of one family were killed in a traffic accident in Algeria

Eight people belonging to the same family, including five children, were killed in a traffic accident in eastern Algeria, the Civil Defense announced today, Saturday.

The children, aged between 4 and 13 years, the parents and the father's sister, died when their car collided late Friday with a truck near the city of Batna, according to what was stated in a statement, without providing details about the circumstances of the accident.

In 2021, Algeria recorded about 22,000 traffic accidents that killed 3,601 people and injured 29,763 others, according to the authorities.
