Menna Shalabi to the judiciary on charges of drug abuse

Today, the Egyptian Public Prosecution authorities issued a decision to refer the artist, Menna Shalaby, to the criminal court on charges of drug abuse, according to a number of local media.

Last month, the Cairo airport customs authorities decided to refer the Egyptian actress to the Public Prosecution office after she was arrested on suspicion of having narcotic drugs in her possession.

The Egyptian actress was returning on a plane from the United States with some sweets, which customs suspected contained marijuana, before they seized the actress and referred her to the Public Prosecution Office to take appropriate action.

Hours later, the Public Prosecution ordered the release of the artist on a financial guarantee of 50,000 pounds, after the artist denied possessing and obtaining the materials on charges of abuse, and sending the narcotic substances to the Forensic Medicine Authority to examine them and clarify their nature.
