The Arab Fashion Week, which is held in a strategic partnership between the Arab Fashion Council and Dubai Design District, continues to organize its activities through its 21st edition, which runs until October 15.

The first days witnessed the launch of the new collections of a number of designers, through a space and platform designed specifically for the event, in the Dubai Design District, in addition to a group of prominent large-scale events organized for the first time, including entertainment activities, shopping experiences, food and dialogue sessions, which consolidates the position of Dubai is a global hub for major international companies, talent and startups in the fields of design, fashion and creativity.

"Barbie"

The first days witnessed a group of shows by a group of prominent designers in the fashion industry, who presented their collections for the fall-winter season 2022-2023 of evening dresses, as well as ready-to-wear for the spring and summer of 2023.

The highlight of the first day's shows was the collection presented by the Lebanese designer Jean-Louis Sabji, which he implemented in a global collaboration, the first of its kind with "Barbie", where he presented his collection inspired by the dresses of the famous fashion icon.

His private collection will continue to be displayed at the Barbie Museum in Dubai Design District, which will be part of the Arab Fashion Week.

The Sabji group shone in the colors of the famous "Barbie" dresses, especially the pink and black, while the cuts were very focused on femininity, so the looks were soft and charming.

The designer also added a special touch to the outfits we used to see with "Barbie", and featured the addition of the heart and the placement of feathers to give the collection a special glamor and modern touch.

dark concept

Another notable design is the collection of designer Amato, who dazzled the audience with his collection in which he reproduced the concept of darkness through fashion, as well as giving the Indian Maharaja a contemporary look.

He adopted the presentation of his own collection of evening dresses for the fall-winter 2022-2023, in black only, relying on hand embroidery, which formed the dazzling point of the collection, especially as it brought to mind Indian hand embroidery with its romantic nature.

Amato breaks down traditional design barriers with cuts, as well as with turbans on heads, feathers and molded shoulders, bypassing the traditional fashion.

The dresses he presented combined bold and soft, especially as he deliberately combined fabrics, including leather, which he put in many designs, and gave the cuts a lot of daring.

What is remarkable about his collection is that he did not give up dazzling by putting touches that make his cuts turn to the fantasy of fashion, especially in the simple cuts decorated with huge accessories that add to the fashion the elements of surprise and exoticism.

Polish orchards

As for the Polish designer Dorota Goldpoint, she took the audience on a journey through the Polish meadows and orchards, which she presented in a palette of calm colors filled with roses and golden hues.

The designer relied on cuts with sculpted shoulders that bear the legendary details of the feather, which flows with silky fabrics, so she came simple, calm and soft, but at the same time daring.

The designs presented by the feminine spirit in the cuts, and the ambition of the strong woman, and demonstrate their tendency to simplicity in elegance, and to stay away from frugality, whether in the details related to the cuts, or even the feathers that they add and embroidery.
