Hani Shaker announces from Syria that he was born again!

Artist Hani Shaker from Damascus released his song "Long live Syria.. Long live Egypt", and confirmed that his revival of two musical evenings in Syria after a 15-year hiatus, "a new artistic birth for him on the land of Syria."

During a press conference on the opera stage at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus, Shaker spoke about the song he released on the occasion of his visit to Syria.

Shaker explained that this combination of the Syrian word and the Egyptian melody "is like building new and advanced artistic relationships with Syrian composers and authors."


Regarding the public turnout of Syrians to attend his concerts, Shaker said that "high art is fine and embodies the Syrians' keenness to hear authentic art," and expressed his happiness to return to the Syrian art scene after an absence of more than 15 years. 

Social networking sites were buzzing with a video clip showing the audience storming the opera house in Syria in order to obtain tickets to attend the Egyptian artist's concert, and there were also talks about a number of cases of fainting in long queues lined up in Damascus to book tickets for the Prince of Arab Singing's concert.

Shaker promised "his fans, who loved him and welcomed him with this passion, with more concerts in all Syrian governorates."

In response to a question about his new artistic birth on the land of Syria, he indicated that there was a new feeling for him when he felt the Syrian public's love for him through the great turnout to attend his concerts, especially the youth, which he considered "a new artistic birth for him on the land of Syria."
