Tochigi Prefecture and Utsunomiya City announced on the 16th that a total of 1,767 people were newly infected with the new coronavirus.
A total of 163,130 people have been confirmed to be infected in the prefecture.
The prefecture also announced four new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the prefecture to 352.
