Seven years after the avalanche that killed eight people, including high school students, Nasu Town in Tochigi mourns the victims. The 27th marks the 7th anniversary of the accident, and a flower stand was set up at the site overlooking the mountains.
Despite the occasional strong wind, locals and related parties visited to lay flowers and commemorate the eight people who died. Three people have been charged with professional negligence resulting in death or injury. A verdict is scheduled to be handed down at the Utsunomiya District Court on May 30.
