China News Service, Xining, August 10 (Reporter Sun Rui) The Propaganda Department of the Golmud Municipal Committee of Qinghai Province announced on the evening of the 9th that there was a sudden flood in the Nalingele River, and Golmud City immediately launched an emergency response.

According to reports, due to the recent continuous high temperature in Golmud, the rapid melting of snow and ice in the upper reaches of the Nalingele River caused floods.

As of 8:00 a.m. on August 8, the water level elevation had reached 3272.04 meters, and the instantaneous flow of storage was as high as 1030 cubic meters per second, exceeding the 10-year flood control standard.

To this end, the Golmud Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Government and the Municipal Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters conducted an urgent research and judgment consultation, and decided to activate the second-level emergency response to flood control in response to the flood situation, and immediately took measures such as continuous observation, transfer and evacuation of downstream personnel and livestock.

At present, the construction personnel of the on-site dangerous section of the Naringele River Hub Construction Administration, the personnel related to the second- and third-level power stations of the Naringele River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., and the downstream villagers of Wutumeiren Township have been evacuated.

At the same time, the bridge abutments and subgrades of No. 1-8 bridges on the S318 Gemang Highway have been damaged to varying degrees, and there are no traffic conditions (K199+198-K204+800 are closed in both directions). The S318 Gemang Highway has been closed.
