Wakayama Prefecture announced on the 7th that 1,645 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
Compared to the same day of the week in the previous week, there were 347 more people, and it was the second highest number after the 3rd of this month.
It is also the highest number ever for a Sunday.
A total of 76,092 people were confirmed to be infected in the prefecture.
The number of serious cases has increased by three since the 6th, bringing the number to seven.
