On July 29, China's second Qinghai-Tibet Plateau comprehensive scientific research (Qinghai-Tibet Scientific Expedition) "Human Activities History and Its Influence" team set off from Lhasa, Tibet for the 2022 summer scientific research mission "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Human-Land Relationship Comprehensive Investigation". The scientific expedition team members took 9 field expedition vehicles to go to Ngari along the southern line of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and returned to Lhasa from the northern line via the Qiangtang Plateau. They will conduct comprehensive field surveys, sampling, and cross-border surveys at more than 60 scientific research sites in about a month. Academic discussions and exchanges.

  The theme of this comprehensive scientific expedition is "Comprehensive Investigation of Human-Land Relationships on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau". The scientific expedition team is mainly composed of researchers, postdoctoral, doctoral and postgraduate students from the Institute of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Institute of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Chinese Academy of Sciences), covering professional fields. Paleoecology, paleoenvironment, paleogeography, archaeology, environmental archaeology, atmosphere, vegetation, geology, global change and many other research directions.

The scientific expedition will cover more than 5,000 kilometers with an average altitude of more than 4,500 meters. It will conduct comprehensive and in-depth scientific investigations on nearly 30 plateau lakes, nearly 20 historical sites and more than 10 features of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
