Typhoon Songda is the 5th typhoon heading north from south-southeast of Kagoshima, Japan.

Because it is a small typhoon and does not develop strongly, the structure of the typhoon is not clear.

The typhoon is expected to disappear the day after tomorrow after passing through the distant seas of Jeju Island and heading north toward Shanghai, China tomorrow.

Typhoons do not come directly to Korea, but Jeju Island and the southern coast are indirectly affected, so it is expected to rain heavily and strong winds.

[Lee Kwang-yeon / Meteorological Administration Forecast Analyst: Rain that started on Jeju Island on the morning of the 30th due to the effect of water vapor brought by the typhoon is expected to expand to the southern coast on the night of the 30th and other southern regions on the 31st…

Between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, 50-150mm of rain is expected on Jeju Island, and it is expected that it will rain more than 300mm in the mountainous areas of Jeju Island.

Rain of 10 to 60 mm is expected in the southern region, and over 80 mm is expected on the southern coast of Jeollanam-do and Mt. Jirisan, which are relatively close to typhoons.

Waves will also rise up to 5m high, centered on the sea off Jeju Island, and swell waves will come along the Jeollanam-do coast.

At the same time, the sweltering heat and especially tropical nights intensify.

Typhoons have a tendency to rotate counterclockwise, because after the typhoon passes through Jeju Island, it blows hot and humid southern air toward Korea.

In Seoul, which is not affected by the typhoon, the weather will continue to be sunny tomorrow, and the temperature will rise to 35 degrees.

The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that on Sunday, the temperature would drop slightly in the metropolitan area, but the humidity would rise and the heat wave would continue.
