Last year, Hong Kong’s average temperature reached 24.5 degrees, the second warmest on record. Hong Kong has 54 days of extremely hot weather (the highest temperature of the day reaches 33 degrees or above) throughout the year, the most since records began.

The number of tropical cyclones entering within 500 kilometers of Hong Kong is normal to high, about 5 to 8. As the climate continues to warm, the Observatory predicts that Hong Kong's annual average temperature will be higher than normal this year.
