On July 26, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Emergency Management (the Provincial Local Coal Mine Safety Supervision Administration) issued a notice ordering the second mine of Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. to suspend production for rectification.
On July 25, 2022, a safety accident occurred in the second mine of Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. in which one person died.
According to the "Notice of the General Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province on Printing and Distributing the Regulations on Further Strengthening Coal Mine Safety Production", the Provincial Emergency Management Department (provincial local coal mine safety supervision and administration bureau) ordered the second mine of Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. Production will be stopped from now on, rectification will be carried out in accordance with regulations, and the first-level standardization level of the mine will be revoked.
The notice requires that the local emergency department should strengthen the safety management of the mine during the period of shutdown and rectification, and dispatch more than 2 personnel to monitor the site to supervise the rectification. During the rectification period, it is strictly forbidden to engage in underground mining operations.
After the rectification is completed, the production resumption inspection and acceptance shall be organized in strict accordance with the regulations, and production can be resumed only after the inspection and acceptance are passed.
