Students at the Condorcet high school in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne) can now charge their phones by pedaling a bicycle, reports

Le Parisien

.

It was positioned in the courtyard of the establishment.

Two months of work

The director of the establishment initially wanted to buy a charger bike, but the cost was too high.

She then imagined a collaborative project and therefore approached the professional high school Gabriel-Péri in Champigny-sur-Marne.

It was the students of this neighboring establishment who finally made the famous bicycle capable of recharging the battery of a laptop.

In total, it took nearly two months for the high school students in the electricity baccalaureate section to design it for half a day a week.

And for good reason, they did everything by themselves.

Only the saddle of the bicycle was purchased commercially.

According to the teachers, this type of project also makes it possible to undermine stereotypes concerning vocational training.
