China reimposes restrictions to counter the Corona virus

China has begun reimposing restrictions to combat the Corona virus after weeks of easing them in major cities, raising fears that Beijing may impose new closures to control the outbreak of the virus.

China recorded 69 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) during the past 24 hours, including 29 in Beijing, 27 in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and 11 in Shanghai, the Chinese National Health Commission said Monday.

And the Bloomberg news agency quoted Beijing city officials as saying that the outbreak of the virus, which is due to a famous bar, is more difficult to control than previous outbreaks.

The authorities postponed the reopening of most schools in Beijing as planned on Monday, while most areas in Shanghai suspended dining services in restaurants.

The virus began spreading days after Beijing and Shanghai eased restrictions imposed to confront Corona months ago.
