Five years ago, the Yokohama District Court ruled on the 6th against a defendant accused of dangerous driving fatal injuries in a redoing trial involving four family members who were killed or injured on the Tomei Expressway in Kanagawa Prefecture. Will be handed down.

Attention will be paid to what kind of judgment will be made at the issue of whether the crime of dangerous driving can be applied.

Five years ago, a wagon car stopped on the Tomei Expressway in Kanagawa Prefecture was hit by a truck, killing his husband Yoshihisa Hagiyama (45) and his wife Yuka Hagiyama (39), leaving two daughters behind. In the accident, Kazuho Ishibashi (30) was accused of causing a fatal injury in dangerous driving, alleging that he caused the accident at the end of driving.

In the lay judge trial, the issue was whether the crime of dangerous driving could be applied, and the prosecution said, "It is clear from driving records and eyewitness testimony that repeated disturbing driving is an extremely dangerous and malicious crime." While he was sentenced to 18 years in prison, the defense pleaded not guilty, saying, "It cannot be said that there was obstructive driving from the GPS records, and the accident was caused by the speed violation of the truck that collided from behind."

Regarding this trial, in 2018, the Yokohama District Court of the first trial decided that it was a crime of dangerous driving and sentenced him to 18 years in prison, but the Tokyo High Court of the second trial has an illegal point in the procedure of the first trial. If so, the trial had been redone since January.

The verdict is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm, and the court's decision will be watched.
