The Dakar International Art Biennale brings together for its 14th edition in the Senegalese capital works of contemporary art from all over the African continent.

Formerly described as primitive or savage, African art is now regaining its letters of nobility on the world level and has, in recent years, benefited from increased recognition.

Artists from the continent invade exhibitions and contemporary art fairs around the world, but do they have the same success in Africa where galleries and museums are rare?
