CAN 2023: Madagascar and the Central African Republic beaten to qualify

The qualifiers for the next African Cup of Nations (CAN 2023) started very badly for the Madagascar team, this June 1, 2022 in Cape Coast.
The Barea were swept 3-0 by Ghana on the first day of the group stage.
They resisted during the first period, before yielding in quick succession on the achievements of Mohammed Kudus (54th) and Felix Afena Ohene-Gyan (56th), then Osman Bukari (87th).
The Barea will have to react on June 5 in Mahamasina against Angola.
For the Black Stars, this clear success is on the other hand reassuring, after a catastrophic CAN 2021 (elimination in the first round), and while waiting for a 2022 World Cup for which they are qualified.
The RCA overthrown
The Central African Republic team also started its qualifying campaign for CAN 2023 with a defeat.
However, the Central Africans opened the scoring on the ground of the Angolans, this Wednesday in Luanda.
Striker Samuel Nlend found the fault in the 32nd minute.
The Fauves du Bas-Oubangui then yielded twice in the second period: by M'Bala Nzola (73rd) and Gelson Dala (76th).
The RCA players will now stay in the Angolan capital to play "at home" their second match in group E of these qualifiers, the Central African staff told rfi.fr.
They will challenge the Ghanaians there on June 5.
