A Syrian youth kidnaps himself and asks for a ransom of 30 million pounds from his parents!

The Syrian Ministry of Interior revealed the details of a young man who fabricated a fake kidnapping and demanded a ransom of 30 million pounds from his relatives.

The ministry said that a Syrian citizen informed the Criminal Security Branch in Latakia that his son (Mahmoud B.), born in 2000, had been kidnapped by unknown persons, and that letters had been received from an unknown number asking the kidnappers for a ransom of thirty million Syrian pounds in exchange for his release.

The ministry added that as a result of careful follow-up and the preparation of an elaborate ambush in coordination with the families of the kidnapped, the Criminal Security Branch in Latakia was able to lure the kidnapper and arrest him while he was present to receive the ransom amount, and it turned out that he was the same kidnapped named (Mahmoud).

And the ministry added that, by interrogating him, he confessed that he had fabricated the fake kidnapping incident with the intention of obtaining the ransom amount, as he booked a room in a hotel and communicated with his mother from a new mobile SIM through the “WhatsApp” program as one of the kidnappers after he filmed himself while he was tied up, asking them Pay the said ransom.

The young man indicated that the cause of the accident was due to family disputes with his father, and that before the accident he borrowed a motorcycle from his neighbor and sold it to a bike repair shop in exchange for a cell phone and a small amount of money, then sold the cell phone to a telecom store to cover the hotel reservation expenses.

The ministry indicated that the cell device and the motorcycle were recovered and handed over to its owner, and the arrested young man will be presented to the competent judiciary.
