The Supreme Court ruled on the 17th of next month about the four proceedings of the class proceedings in which people who evacuated to various places due to the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station sought compensation from the government and TEPCO. Decided to hand over.

The Supreme Court is expected to make a unified decision for the first time on the national responsibility for the nuclear accident.

The judgments are handed down in four proceedings, Fukushima, Gunma, Chiba, and Ehime, among the class proceedings in which people who evacuated to various places after the nuclear accident sued the government and TEPCO.

In the four proceedings, the judgments of the two courts were divided on the responsibility of the state, and the trial was held by the Supreme Court.

In an argument held from last month to this month, the residents said, "The government neglected to instruct tsunami countermeasures based on the" long-term evaluation "of earthquakes by the government. Was prevented. "

In response, the government denied responsibility, saying, "The" long-term evaluation "is unreliable, and the estimation based on it and the actual tsunami are completely different, and even if we ordered tsunami countermeasures, the accident could not be prevented."

In the four proceedings, TEPCO's liability and compensation amount have already been confirmed.

As for changes in the living base and damages caused by the loss of "hometown", a compensation fee exceeding the national standard for compensation for the nuclear accident was granted, and the total amount of compensation confirmed was 1.4 billion yen for a total of about 3,700 people. It goes up too.

It will be interesting to see how the Supreme Court will make a unified decision on national responsibilities in the ruling handed down on the 17th of next month.
