It was one festival too many for the mayors of five surrounding municipalities.

The Cercle Festival which took place on the tarmac of Le Bourget airport (Seine-Saint-Denis) last weekend caused, according to them, extreme noise pollution.

It would also have caused incivility and security problems.

The event brought together 24,000 electronic music lovers, dancing day and night.

According to

Le Parisien

, the mayors of Dugny, Le Bourget, Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis) and Garges-lès-Gonesse and Bonneuil-en-France (Val-d'Oise) contacted the prefect of police Didier Lallly.

They sent him a collective letter on Monday asking for measures before the next festivals, scheduled for August 26-27 and September 16-17.

Fed up with local residents

On the Facebook page of Quentin Gesell, DVD mayor of Dugny, residents also expressed their dismay at these repeated festivities.

The city councilor proposed “the installation of straw walls to absorb the decibels”, while that of Le Bourget denounced the dirt on the roads and the incivilities.
