"It would have been very frustrating to perform at La Cigale and for him to no longer be there to see it"

"I always heard about this room when I was little. La Cigale was the story of my family", explains the singer-songwriter.

A story closely linked to his great-grandmother.

"I didn't know her, she died the year I was born. But she was really a character who meant a lot, especially to my mother, who often told me about her."

"My grandfather was waiting in the room for his mother to finish his service. He always came to sit in the same place. When she sold the ice cream during the intermission, she always put something aside for him", says Vincent Derm.

"All this mythology meant a lot to my grandfather. La Cigale is a room whose facade has changed, but not much inside. It was really a big thing for him. And it would have been very frustrating for me. to perform in that room and that he is no longer there to see it. I was lucky that, for about fifteen years, he was able to come there. That is undoubtedly one of the things that makes La Cigale is my favorite venue in Paris."
