The arrest of a criminal network promoting smuggled drugs used in "secret abortion" in Morocco

The judicial police of the city of Meknes in Morocco, based on accurate information provided by the interests of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, managed, the day before yesterday, Thursday, to arrest 8 people, aged between 35 and 68 years, on suspicion of being linked to a criminal network active in the promotion of smuggled drugs used in Abortion.

Hespress website quoted a security source, in a statement, that the data for the research revealed the suspected involvement of the detainees in attracting pregnant women for the purpose of illegal abortions in a clinic in the city of Meknes;

With the help of smuggled medical tablets and syringes, they are purchased from promoters in the city of Casablanca.

The research and investigations carried out in this case resulted in the arrest of a doctor and his immediate assistance after performing an illegal operation to abort a woman’s pregnancy.

The rest of the suspects, including two people from sub-Saharan Africa, were arrested in flagrante delicto of possessing and distributing 1,029 units of smuggled medical tablets and syringes used in this criminal activity.

The same source added that seven of the suspects were detained under the measure of theoretical guard, at the disposal of the research being conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, while the eighth suspect was kept under medical observation in the local hospital;

This is to determine the rest of the possible extensions of this criminal activity, as well as to arrest the rest of those supposed to be involved in committing these criminal acts.
