Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that the Hajj this year will be performed only by those who have never performed Hajj before.

The Egyptian Prime Minister added that it was agreed during the meeting of the Higher Ministerial Committee for Hajj not to allow Hajj at the expense of the state or any of its affiliates this year.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Health and Population will set health controls for those most at risk of infection to avoid their travel this year, according to a number of Egyptian media outlets.

The Egyptian Minister of Endowments, Dr. Mukhtar Gomaa, had commented on the decision not to allow the pilgrimage at the expense of the Egyptian state, saying in televised statements: "We understand the current circumstances, and the first thing is for someone to be treated at the state's expense or to provide housing."

He continued: "Hajj is for the one who is physically and financially able, and who has food to spend from it until he returns from Hajj."

He pointed out that "the coordination meeting was held with officials of the ministries and concerned authorities, and it was agreed not to allow the pilgrimage at the expense of the state, or any of its affiliates this year, and therefore there is no pilgrimage at the expense of the Ministry of Awqaf this year, within the framework of the application of the principle of jurisprudence of priorities, Given that fulfilling the needs of the needy is a thousand times more important, and a greater reward and higher reward than repeating Hajj and Umrah.
