The occupation and war merchants are behind the cash liquidity crisis in the Gaza Strip. Obtaining cash in Gaza has become one of the daily battles that residents of the Strip wage to manage their lives.

They are stuck between the anvil of money running out from ATMs and the hammer of currency merchants who charge high rates. The liquidity crisis affects the lives of more than 1,300,000 residents and displaced people in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza strip. The occupation bears responsibility for the massive destruction of bank headquarters and automated teller machines.
