  Longbao National Nature Reserve is located in Longbao Town, Yushu City, Qinghai Province, with a total area of ​​100 square kilometers.

Located in the core area of ​​Sanjiangyuan, the reserve has typical inland wetlands and water ecosystems. It is the first national nature reserve established in Qinghai Province and the first breeding reserve for black-necked cranes in China.

In recent years, with the improvement of the ecological environment, more national-level protected wild animals are also living in Longbao.

  According to reports, the survey recorded more than 5,000 birds of 47 species, belonging to 12 orders and 21 families.

Among them, there are 4 species of national I-level protected animals, namely black-necked crane, bearded vulture, grassland eagle, and safrel; 6 species of national II-level protected animals, respectively, grey crane, alpine vulture, white-tailed harrier, giant buzzard, and vertical striped belly. Owl, Kestrel; 45 species of birds recorded are all included in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, including 2 endangered species, 2 vulnerable species, and 3 near-threatened species.

  As the main breeding birds in Longbao National Nature Reserve, bar-headed geese and black-necked cranes have arrived in the reserve one after another. This survey recorded more than 3,700 bar-headed geese and 45 black-necked cranes.

I saw them dancing, singing cheerfully, busy foraging, and soaring in the air, becoming a beautiful landscape in the reserve.

Spoon-billed ducks are birds of the family Anseriformes.

Males have dark green head and neck, white breast and flanks, and chestnut belly.

A total of 13 shovel-billed ducks were recorded in the survey, living in the thawed water surface of Longbao Lake.
