The city of Lyon is launching its first water festival, called “Entre Rhône et Saône”.
A weekend to reclaim the city's two rivers and talk about the environment.
A hundred artistic, naturalist and sporting activities are planned during these three days.
On Saturday, a gigantic parade will wander from the Place des Terreaux to the Guillotière bridge, accompanied by stilt walkers and batucadas.
The parade will end with a show at the foot of the bridge “under the eye of the Mâchecroute”, a totemic installation which will represent a popular medieval legend.
Two taverns
Those nostalgic for the ephemeral guinguettes, installed for a time on the banks of the Rhône, will be able to taste again the joys of evening balls and aperitifs with music.
Two guinguettes will be installed, on the lawns of the lower banks of the Rhône between the Wilson bridge and the Guillotière bridge, and on the Saône side, within the framework of Barbe island.
Also note a show given by the Camargue company Ilotopie on the waters of the Saône.
The rest of the program will be unveiled in June.
