A donor sponsors the provision of chemotherapy to the patient "Umm Rashid"

A donor has paid 33,384 dirhams, the cost of a six-month chemical injection, to a 34-year-old Jordanian mother, Umm Rashid, who suffers from breast cancer, and who underwent a treatment program to control the disease at Tawam Hospital, and received six sessions of chemotherapy, Then she underwent surgery to remove the cancerous tumor, and the husband had to borrow from the bank to save his wife, but he was unable to manage the cost of the chemotherapy injections.

He coordinated the "hotline" between the donor and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, to transfer the donation amount to the patient's account at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain.

On March 21, "Emirates Today" published the story of the suffering of (Umm Rashid) with breast cancer, which she has been suffering from since last May, and she entered Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, and underwent a treatment program to control the disease and not spread to the rest of the body.

The patient's husband had previously told "Emirates Today" the story of (Um Rashid) suffering with the disease, saying: "He had three sons, the eldest (Rashid - 12 years old), and the youngest (Yara - two years), and last May, during a breastfeeding period ( Yara) His wife felt pain in the breast, which lasted for long periods, and she noticed a change in the size and shape of the right breast, and the presence of itching and a lump that could be touched by the hand.

He continued, "He took her to a private hospital near the residence, and after conducting examinations and analyzes, the doctor treating the wife's condition told him that there was a mass in the right breast, and the patient must be taken to a government hospital to be more accurate, and immediately took her to Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, Examinations and analyzes were performed, an x-ray was done, and a sample was taken from the right breast.

He continued: “After two days, the results of the tests and analyzes appeared, and the doctor informed him of the presence of a medium-sized cancerous tumor in the right breast, and she must start undergoing chemotherapy sessions, until her health condition is controlled, before the tumor spreads, and indeed she was given the first session of Chemotherapy, and the doctor decided to continue taking her chemotherapy sessions every 21 days, and the wife got six sessions of chemotherapy, and the health insurance covered the costs of the treatment in full.

The husband added: “After completing the chemotherapy sessions specified for her, the doctor told him that the second stage of the treatment program must be started, and a surgery was performed, during which the cancerous tumor and lymph nodes in the right breast were removed, and the wife stayed in the hospital for a week until Her health condition stabilized, insurance covered part of the operation, and he had to obtain a loan from the bank to cover the remaining part of the operation and treatment costs.”

He continued, "The doctor stressed the necessity of completing the treatment program, and giving the wife chemical injections, in order to fight and extinguish the cancerous disease, and limit its spread in the rest of the body."

The husband said: "He is the sole breadwinner for his family of five, and he works in the private sector with a salary of 9,000 dirhams, from which he pays the rent of the house, the school fees for his children, in addition to the bank loan, and the remaining part goes to the daily expenses of food and drink."

Quick response

The patient’s husband expressed his thanks to the donor, for his generous stance with his difficult circumstances, and his quick response in light of the difficult financial conditions he is going through, noting that this donation is not strange for the members of the state in their solidarity with humanitarian cases, and extending a helping hand and assistance to every needy.
