- It is no wonder that a person who is soon 110 dies.

Still, it's an incredible loss.

There are few people in my life that I have come to know who have given me so much, says Åsa Blanck.

- She has taken me on the wildest adventures.

So I think she has always been, but maybe she allowed herself to be so even more after she turned 100: "Shit same, now we drive".

And those adventures are over now.

Called the world's oldest blogger

Dagny Carlsson began her career as an influencer late in life.

After her husband Harry's death, she started blogging at the age of 93.

For the blog, she has regularly received media attention, and received the epithet "the world's oldest blogger".

In the spring of 2021, however, she stopped blogging due to a hospital stay.

She was discharged from the hospital in June.

Blogging led to a new life for Dagny Carlsson.

In 2016, she got a minor supporting role in the feature film The Centenarian, which slipped from the bill and disappeared.

The same year Carlsson published the book Life according to Dagny: In the head of a 104-year-old together with the journalist Helén Bjurberg.

The following year, she was one of the summer talkers in Sommar in P1.

In the winter of the same year, she was voted by the listeners to be one of the winter hosts in Winter in P1.

Worked in factory for twenty years

Dagny Carlsson was born in Kristianstad in 1912, the eldest of five siblings.

After eight years of schooling, she took a job as a seamstress at a shirt factory.

She continued to work in a factory for twenty years, before she furthered her education and became a foreman at a corset factory in Sundbyberg, north of Stockholm.

For the last fifteen years, she worked at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, where she worked with art purchases, among other things.

Planned 110th anniversary

Åsa Blanck tells Kulturnyheterna that it felt like Dagny "would survive us all".

- It was only a week or so since we were heard now.

We shouted on the phone to hear each other.

She would turn 110 on the eighth of May and we had planned for a party, says Åsa Blanck.

Last post on the blog

Dagny Carlsson's last own post on the blog she made on January 28, 2022. She then wrote that a friend said "that I have at least nine lives, like the cat, but I do not know what I should use so much of life for".

She also writes about her upcoming 110th birthday:

”(I) look forward to celebrating my 110th birthday in May, preferably with a small party.

If it is to be a party, it must be lively at the party ”.
